Haven
Exhibit at Resurgence
2022 Senior Exhibition
in Salisbury University's
Downtown Gallery
The theme of this exhibition was re-emerging after covid, which led me to create an exhibit based on being at home.

Artist Statement :
“It’s the little things in life.”
Rooms are safe havens. This was even more apparent due to the pandemic. I wanted to capture such a safe space in this exhibit, creating an idealized version of a small living space that is a mix of my dorm room on campus and the place I once lived at. Due to
financial issues, my mother and I once rented a single room. This small, cramped room was the bedroom where we slept, the kitchen where we cooked, the dining room where we ate, and the living room where we watched TV. Although it had some inconveniences, it was home for a while. However, we could not stay there forever. Likewise, with the pandemic behind us and as I transition to the next stage in my life, it is time to step out into the world.

This was my first new media project. It was a simple pattern that slightly transitions into other colors, creating an interesting glow effect. This was projected onto a cardboard sculpture.
The flat image of the pattern. It is actually a photograph of the ceiling of the MGM casino with the colors changed to look like a retro, funky reflection of water.

You can still view it, but some things might be incomplete or might not work.
Sculpture
Most of my sculptures are made of plaster with a painted wood base or a welded metal base. I've created a bronze statue once as well as tried 3D printing with PLA.
